Our Purpose
- Witness to the reality of White Supremacy in both church and society
- Actively love our sisters and brothers of color
- Advocate and work to overthrow systemic racist policies and practices and to establish antiracist policies and practices in church and society.
Our Mission
- Educate and provide consciousness raising opportunities for members of First Church and the community
- Strengthen our relationship with First Baptist Church of Stratford as “Two Houses, One Home”
- Increase our antiracist capacity by working with the Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport (CCGB) and Congregations Organized for a New Connecticut (CONECT) and to
- Engage the congregation to act on local and national issues such as, but not limited to, criminal justice reform including police accountability, mass incarceration, bail reform, and juvenile justice, voting rights, inequities in housing, education, and health care, and environmental justice
